Achieve3000 provides various articles that can help students improving their reading and problem solving skill. Before moving to one article and get your grades, you need to finish all the sections in one article first. So, what exactly do you have to do to finish an article in Achieve3000.
This article will provide elaborate step by step guide for you so you can complete the article achieve the best results after each lesson.
First of all, you will notice that the lesson page has 9 different tabs. However, to complete an article, you only need to pay attention to the first 5 tabs. Those tabs are as follows:
1. Before Reading Poll
In this section, you will find one poll question and you need to answer whether you agree or disagree with that statement. Pay attention to the question because it is actually a short introduction of what the article is about. Don’t forget to elaborate your reason why you agree or disagree with the statement.
Now it is time to read the article. It is long and can be challenging. But you can use the highlight features and make some notes to help you remember important information from each paragraph. Make sure you read the articles carefully because you will need the information to answer the questions in the next sections.
In this section, you need to finish several multiply questions about the articles you read on the last tab. Please remember that you need 70% to pass and you will be given two attempts to reach that score. But you don’t have to be afraid. You can always refer back to the article to help you answer the questions.
4. After Reading Poll
This section will present you the same question from the Before Reading Poll. But in the section you don’t have to elaborate your reason from choosing agree or disagree.
5. Thought Question
Now this is the most important part of all. In this section, your writing and problem solving skill will be tested. You need to write your opinion regarding the topic of the article and you need to write it well if you want to get stellar response from your teacher. To write an excellent Thought Question, here are the things you need to do:
- In the first sentence, you need to show which side you are on. Do you agree with the article? Do you support the issue presented on the article?
- In the second sentence, you need to cite some sentences or statistics from the article that can be used to support your opinion.
- Last but not least, in the third sentence, you need to explain why the evidence you cite from the article can be used to back up your argument. Click Submit after you done writing and there you are, finally finish one article with flying colors.
After finishing the article, you can move to the next tab to check the national poll result, do math tasks or even start reading new article. Do anything you like while waiting for feedbacks from your teacher.
